Job Description:
Chambers and Partners is going through an exciting period of growth and organisational change and we are looking for a candidate to assist with the administrative processes for Recruitment, HR and Learning and Development (L&D) within our People Team.
Applicants should be comfortable in a fast-paced environment, where they will be required to carry out a range of duties and responsibilities across areas including recruitment, onboarding, HR projects, learning and development programmes and benefits administration.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Recruitment
 
  • Working with the Recruitment Advisor on creating job advertisements and posting on job boards. Maintaining these adverts and updating/removing when required
  • Drafting internal career vacancy communications and maintaining the internal vacancies page
  • Reviewing job applications, filtering and screening appropriate candidates and passing suitable candidates to the Recruitment Advisor
  • Responsible for the organisation of Recruitment and HR files, including agency terms of business, internal authorisation forms, job descriptions, benefit handouts and creating personnel files
  • Maintaining the internal recruitment tracker, ensuring all analytics and data is correct and kept up to date
  • Sending out written offers to candidates and drawing up new starter documentation. Saving all documents in personnel files
  • Liaising with wider People Team and Technology Team regarding new starters. Responsible for ensuring a smooth onboarding process
  • Assisting with Research Open Days: sending out calendar invitations, gathering correct paperwork, arranging interviewers and ensuring the day runs smoothly
HR
 
  • Drawing up employment contracts for new starters and sending all new starter paperwork to the candidate via Docusign for completion
  • Conducting right to work checks for all successful candidates and the appropriate legal documentation has been reviewed and approved
  • Creating Sage People user accounts for new starters
  • Ensuring all arrangements for new starters are completed in advance, including liaising with Technology and maintaining internal spreadsheets to assist with laptop planning and ensure a smooth onboarding experience
  • Supporting with the leaver process: saving documentation to employee files, acknowledging confirmation of resignations and arranging exit interviews for the People Officer and Senior People Business Partner
  • Responsible for the administration of employee reward and benefits e.g. private healthcare scheme, cycle scheme and WeWork membership
  • Assisting with employee engagement: arranging Chambers Welcome sessions and work anniversaries
  • Supporting the People Officer with pre- and post-employment reference requests
  • Assisting with additional official paperwork including amendments to contracts and making any required changes on Sage People
  • Assist with projects across the People function
Essential skills and qualifications
 
  • Have a minimum of 1-2 years of experience in an administration role
  • Degree educated or with other relevant alternative experience
  • Excellent Excel, Word, PowerPoint skills
  • Experience of working with an HR Information System (ideally Sage People) would be preferable but is not essential
